More Logo Goodness….

Posted in graphic design | 2 Comments »

This logo was for a friend, Sid Burgess.  You can go check it out at its Facebook page.  I first met Sid when I helped a group work on the OK Blizzard/OK Ice Map project (which hopefully I’ll write about sometime soon).  Since then we have gotten to know him and his family a lot better and they have helped me fall more in love with OKC.  :)  Great people, another fun logo project!

Not sure if a project can turn out much cuter than this….  A little graphic design project for a friend.  Circus-themed tickets and invite for a birthday party.  Everyone all together now, “AWWWWWWWWWWW!”

New Logo – OKCmail

This was a fun one to work on.  Besides it being for a local company, I got to use the OKC skyline….  So, thanks to OKC Computing for a neat logo project!  :)

On a Billboard!

Posted in Just for Fun, social networking | No Comments »

It all started when I found out that @LamarOKC was re-posting tweets from followers in the OKC area.  What a cool thing, if you got on, you got a few minutes of fame.  I also have to applaud Lamar advertising for such a clever marketing strategy…. they certainly got the attention of the OKC Twitter comunity!  So I followed @LamarOKC and soon enough got the e-mail saying they were following me!  Step 1 complete!

One day I noticed the trend of weird tweets being posted on the billboard and mis-spellings.  So when someone asked @LamarOKC how to get on the billboard, I had to open my mouth, or tweet, something like that.  That is the first time I got on the billboard.

The cool thing is that once you got on, there was a picture of your tweet waiting for you on the OKC Lamar Facebook page.  Since the first one, @LamarOKC put me on a couple more times.  One night @LamarOKC gave my hubby some twitter love and posted his tweet about electric cars.  How cool is that for local businesses, plus just plain fun!

So, I had a lot of fun watching all the tweets and enjoyed my few minutes of fame.  If you are trying to get on the bilboard yourself, well, just be yourself.  They will most likely post something you really didn’t want all of OKC seeing, well, that is sorta how it worked for me.

Oh, don’t forget to follow me on Twitter if you haven’t already… @parrowpages and @eletelephant for the fun stuff!

Photoshop in Real Life….

Posted in Just for Fun | No Comments »

This probably proves that I’ve spent way too much time in Photoshop, but these things cross my mind now and again, especially when it comes to putting on my makeup…

1) I don’t apply eyeliner and mascara, I’m just adding a stroke to my eyes and eyelashes.

2) Blush is really another layer with a 30% opacity.  Oooops, too much blush at 70% opacity, let me just undo that last step and try again.

3) Foundation is really just a layer mask.  The trick is to not keep the opacity set too high so that it is obvious you are wearing it.

4) Concealer is a must have, just clone stamp out those blemishes.

5) Lip gloss is just a layer with a fancy filter.

6) When getting dressed, always preserve your layer order.  Undergarments need to be at the bottom, with shirts jeans, and a jacket at the very top.  Oh, and I don’t reccomend mixing up the sock and shoe layer order, socks have to go below shoes.

7) Now there are those days when I wish I could go to my history palate and go back to the day when my hair was perfect.  Actually a history palate would just be plain handy.

8 ) I think I’d actually love to carry around a clone stamp in my pocket.  It would be the improved version of those Shout wipes, get a stain, stamp it out.

Sketches by Suzy

suzythumbnailI love launching websites! Usually each website has the neatest thing to offer and the people I get to work with are awesome!

Today the site is www.sketchesbysuzy.com. In my days of scrap booking, I met Suzy over at www.twopeasinabucket.com.  The first thing I created for her was a blinkie for her blog, and I loved doing that.  But later she had a bigger job, turn her Type Pad blog into a website on her own domain!

So what we have is another site built with Wordpress. It doesn’t scream out, I’m a blog, so it is a great example of the versatility of Wordpress and how you can build a website out of it, or a hybrid site like this one (notice that the Sketches section is the actual blog).

So, if you’re thinking, I’d love to move from Typepad or Blogger to my own domain and use Wordpress, but what about moving all my content? It really is super easy to make the move, just give us a call and we’ll get you fixed up!

Twitter Giveaway!

Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

imagesIts time for a Twitter giveaway!!!!  How would you like a $15 giftcard for iTunes?  It isn’t a big flashy give-a-way like a new iPhone, airplane ticket, or a, *gasp* PC, but still, its free and cool!

So how is this going to work?  RT the special message from @ParrowPages anytime on FRIDAY to enter in the giveaway.  I will then put all the names in a hat and then let one of the kids pull out the lucky winner!!!  You’ll have until 10 PM…..

There will be 1 giftcard giveaway for every 50 followers.  Tell a friend!  The cap is 200 followers.

RT all you want, but I’ll just be entering each person once.  That could potentially be a major writing cramp trying to write all those names down…..

If you are not on Twitter, sign up!  Otherwise I’ll be getting around to the big Facebook giveaway down the road.

Alrighty, that’s it, and good luck to all my tweeps!  :D

Desert Skies

thumbnailDesert Skies is a Jazzgrass/Christian band that is currently touring the US.  They are also my long time friends, so I was very excited to get their website set up for them.  Check them out at www.desertskiesband.com and enjoy their music and unique sound.  I especially love the title track of their CD, “Shaped Into Grace.” Another friend, Sarah Skeen, did the main photography featured on their site, so a special thanks goes out to her!  The pictures on this site are just awesome and really makes the site what it is!
